What's Next??

Ugh!!  This is the question, isn't it? What project clambering around in my brain will I pick to work on next?

Well, the way I decide is to think about which story is speaking to me the loudest. For now, the characters begging to have their story written are brand new people you've never met before. Their names are Laura and Trace and they have an exciting story to tell that I can't wait to share with you. The seed has been there for awhile but the rest of it came to me as I was riding shotgun in my husband's pickup on the way to Casper, WY with our kids after Christmas. I pulled out my trusty notebook and outlined for the two hour trip! He couldn't even grumble about me ignoring him because he's a believer in my process and patiently listened to his music while the kids watched movies in the backseat. It was amazing!

Anyway, this year I plan to finish Laura and Trace's story and hopefully will publish in the next two months (late Feb. - early March).

Then, I will work on tying up some loose ends. Specifically, I plan to finish my basketball series which started with Piper and Drew in my book Dating: One on One. Noah and Luke will each get their own book this late spring and summer.

I also need to tell Nick Trevisan's story from Chasing Paris. His book is titled Calling London and I expect to have that one out come fall. I have a new character named Alex Berlin that will round out the trilogy, but he might have to wait for a Christmas debut.

There, I've made a lot of promises to you and to myself. Today, I get to set myself up in my new home office (we have some kids moving out, woohoo!!) and I can get back to work. I am SO excited.

I've been getting so much love from my readers! There is nothing like opening my email and seeing a message from one of you! So much better than ads from BookBub (I love BookBub, just saying!) Please feel free to contact me at stephaniestreetauthor@gmail.com with any comments, reviews, or questions.

Happy reading!

The Perks of Waiting for You!!

I know. I know!! I probably need to work on my next basketball book, but it's still football season and I just had to write down JJ Coleman's story. If you remember, JJ is Connor's best friend in The Perks of Dating You and is mentioned in the other two books as well.

The Perks of Waiting for You will be more of a novella (most of my books are around 60,000 words, this one will be more like 40,000-45,000), hence its subtitle Perks Book 1.5, but hopefully you will fall in love with JJ and his sweet girl anyway!

The Perks of Waiting for You will be available for pre-order today Dec. 2 for only $0.99! (I just uploaded it, so maybe give it a few hours haha!)

My next project!!

It's always kind of nice to know when that next book is coming out, isn't it? I hate getting to the end of a book and wondering what I'm going to read next. My favorite thing is when the authors I love to read take out some of the guess work and just let me know for goodness sakes! Soooo, for those of you who are interested in knowing what is coming next from me, stay tuned. I will be releasing the title and cover and hopefully the release date of my next book on December 2! I'm also hoping to put a tentative timeline out there for future projects for this next year.

Thanks for stopping by! Feel free to leave me a comment letting me know which characters you would like to see featured in my next book! It is so motivating to know what my readers are interested in reading!

Cheers!

It's my favorite time of year...FALL!

It's that time again! FALL. School started a few weeks ago. The house is mostly quiet throughout the day. My almost three year old has mastered Netflix and plays well while watching Bolt! or PJ Masks. Pumpkin spice. Candles burning. A fire in the fireplace. Cool mountain air in the evening.              Best of all- football has started! We went to our local high school's season opener two weeks ago. Living in Wyoming, unless it's a home game, you have to travel far to see your team play. We packed up the kids and snacks and drove two hours. Our team lost, but the atmosphere was amazing. It's moments like those, and the one's from my own high school experience, that breathe life into the characters in my stories.
      Connor and Allie.
      Walker and Blythe.
      Cole and Joie.
It's all about the football! Who didn't dream of dating the star quarterback? Or the scrappy wide receiver who could catch anything? Maybe it was the strong defensive lineman? Whoever it was, Friday nights were all about football, school spirit, and friends. Man, I miss those days!
Still, I love a Sunday afternoon football game. Rooting for my team under a cozy blanket. A roast and mashed potatoes with gravy for dinner. Hmmm. I love this time of year. It has me thinking about Jamie Barnes and what his story might be? Can our favorite cross country runner from the Perks of Dating You ever get his chance to play football? Will he meet the girl of his dreams after losing his chance with Allie? I think he needs his own happily ever after. How about you?

Until next time, Go Colts!

Summertime Blues

Is it just me? Am I the only one? I love my children! I love them so much, but heaven help me, I want them to go back to school. This is the first summer I've tried to write from home while they've been home. Last year we did this summer program and they were gone having fun while I was plugging away at my next novel. This year we decided to just let them have a laid back summer at home, and let me tell you there has been nothing laid back about it.
Oh, the interruptions.
The drama.
The food requests.
And holy crap, the mess!!
I love my kids, I love my kids, I really, really love my kids.
Now go back to school already.
All that being said, my plans have been hijacked by four little stinkers and four more not so little stinkers.
My next book focusing on Noah Jacobs from Dating: One on One will be coming a little (ok, a lot) later than I was expecting. I have a week and a half left before school starts and I just need to enjoy my kiddos before they go back to school and stop sitting in front of my computer accomplishing nothing because they need me to be Mom, especially the one who's potty training (I'm really hoping that after 16+ years of raising kids, I'm almost done with diapers. Cross your fingers for me!)
Anyway, hope all of you are enjoying your summer if you still have some of it left!
Cheers!
